Cox Named the Top Place to Work in Cable

August 29, 2006

Cox Communications has been named the top employer in the cable industry by Cable World magazine. The factors cited for Cox’s No. 1 designation on the magazine’s “Top 10 Places to Work in Cable” list include the company’s commitment to diversity and work/life balance, assistance provided to employees following Hurricanes Katrina and Ivan, and an environment that encourages dialogue between management and employees.

Mae Douglas, Cox’s Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer, said in Cable World, “In today's marketplace, there is a hyper focus on driving efficiencies and cutting costs without a real regard as to how it impacts employees. Cox’s culture doesn’t allow for that type of decision making. All of our decisions are viewed through a lens that considers employee impact.”

The magazine based its rankings on a number of factors including workplace diversity, location, special perks, and opportunities for advancement. Click here for the complete Cable World list.
